In order to upgrade the classification of the hotel, it was decided to construct a leisure centre. This is attached to the existing hotel by a new entrance lobby and reception area.

The centre, designed in conjunction with Richard Daniels Interior Design, incorporates swimming pool, sauna and steam room with a gym and aerobics room.

Completed in 1998.
